PHLC Scholarship Information
One graduating senior from Northern High School and one from Southern High School will be selected to receive a $500 PHLC scholarship.
Who is eligible? Any student from Northern High School or Southern High School who has completed the PHLC Drug-Free pledge is eligible for the PHLC scholarship. The requirements to be considered for the scholarship are that you must have completed the pledge and have abstained from alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and any other drug that creates an artificial high. By completing the attached application, you also agree to a social media scan as a way to verify that you live a PHLC lifestyle, free of drugs and alcohol, as well as a check of your school disciplinary record to ensure that you have not been caught in violation of any of the schoolโs alcohol and drug policies in the last two years.
How is a winner selected? Every time you complete a PHLC survey, you earn an entry into the Scholarship Competition. Completion of the PHLC Drug-Free pledge also earns you additional entries into the competition. A scholarship winner from each high school will be randomly selected using a computer program. Upon selection of a name, a social media scan and a school disciplinary inquiry will be conducted. The winner will be announced during your schoolโs Awards Assembly.
What can the money be used for? Hereโs the cool part! This scholarship can be used for HEALTH, EDUCATION, or EMPLOYMENT. For example, if you would like to use your $500 for a gym membership, you can do that. If you would like to use some of your $500 for steel toe boots for your job, you can do that. If you would like to use your $500 to pay for books for college or any type of class, you can do that.
How do I apply? If you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, all you have to do is complete the attached brief application and email or mail it to the following address by May 8th:
